This streamlined pathway is designed for highly skilled applicants who have internationally recognized records of exceptional achievements within priority sectors. These sectors include Resources, Agri-food and AgTech, Energy, Health industries, Defence, advanced manufacturing and space, Circular economy, Digitech, Infrastructure and tourism, and Financial services and FinTech. To apply under this pathway, applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and receive an invitation.

*Distinguished Talent Pathway*:

This pathway caters to exceptionally talented individuals with internationally recognized achievements in fields such as professions, sports, the arts, or academia and research.

With this visa, you can:

– Reside in Australia permanently

– Work and study in Australia

– Enroll in Australia’s public healthcare scheme, Medicare

– Sponsor your relatives to come to Australia

– Travel to and from Australia for 5 years

– If eligible, apply for Australian citizenship

Please note that newly arrived residents may need to wait before accessing certain Australian Government payments and benefits.

The visa application fee for the main applicant is AUD4,710.00. Additional charges apply for family members included in the application. Applicants aged 18 years or older with less than functional English may also incur a second instalment charge of AUD4,890. Other costs may apply for health checks, police certificates, and biometrics.

Once you have been granted the Global Talent Visa (Subclass 858), there are certain visa conditions you must adhere to:

– Compliance with Australian Laws: You and your family members must obey all Australian laws while residing in Australia.

– Contribution to Australia: As a visa holder, it is expected that you will contribute to Australia in your field of expertise, whether it be economic, social, cultural, or through raising Australia’s academic, artistic, or sports standing internationally.

– Travel: You can travel to and from Australia for 5 years from the date the visa is granted. After 5 years, you will need a Resident Return (RRV) visa (subclass 155 or 157) to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident.

– Visa Label: Your visa will be digitally linked to your passport. You will not receive a physical label in your passport.

Adherence to these conditions is essential to maintain your visa status and ensure a successful stay in Australia.

Global Talent Pathway Processing Times:

– 25% of applications: 6 Months

– 50% of applications: 6 Months

– 75% of applications: 8 Months

– 90% of applications: 11 Months

Actual processing times may vary based on individual circumstances and factors such as invitation status, completeness of the application, response times to requests for information, and availability in the migration program.

To be eligible for the Global Talent Visa (Subclass 858), you must meet the following criteria:

– Be of benefit to the Australian community, contributing economically, socially, culturally, or academically.

– Have the ability to establish yourself in Australia by demonstrating prospects for work in your field.

– Possess international recognition with an exceptional record of achievement in a profession, sport, the arts, or academia and research, demonstrating sustained excellence and prominence.

– Be nominated or endorsed by an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, eligible New Zealand citizen, or an Australian organization with a national reputation in your field.

– There are no age restrictions for this visa, but applicants under 18 or over 55 must demonstrate exceptional benefit to the Australian community.

– Additionally, applicants must either be outside Australia or hold an eligible visa when applying and must meet functional English requirements. A history of visa cancellations or previous refusals may impact eligibility.
