If you havent had a fall from a horse, then youre probably not ready for the hands-on experience of Lakeland Colleges western ranch and cow horse program.
You’ll spend part of every day working with your horse. But this course isnt just about riding. Theres a combination of equine husbandry and beef production. For example youll learn how to provide basic hoof care for horses, stable management and how to identify and treat diseases of beef cattle.
You will train your horse to be a working horse. As a team youll learn how to handle cattle in a low stress manner. Youll also be in the classroom for agricultural mathematics, general agronomy, and range and forage
