The application fee for the Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143) is AUD 48,365. Additional charges apply for each family member included in the application.
The Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143) may have conditions attached to it, such as:
- 8502: Not arriving in Australia before the person specified in the visa.
- 8515: Must not marry or enter into a de facto relationship before entry.
A new Contributory Parent Visa application may take at least 12 years to process based on current planning levels.
For Applicant:
- Not holding or having applied for a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 870).

- Being settled and usually resident in Australia, aged 18 or older.
- Typically sponsoring the parent for the visa, with the possibility of sponsoring more than one parent.
Alternative sponsorship arrangements:
- Sponsoring a visa applicant on behalf of a child under 18 if settled in Australia and aged 18 or older.
- Sponsorship can be provided by the child’s co-habiting spouse, relative or guardian, or a relative or guardian of the child’s co-habiting spouse.
- Community organizations can sponsor applicants meeting specific criteria related to their establishment, operation, and financial commitments.
