Partner (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 309)
The Partner (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 309) is designed for individuals who are in a genuine relationship with an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. This visa allows you to live in Australia temporarily and serves as the initial step toward obtaining the permanent Partner Visa (Subclass 100).
With the Subclass 309 – Partner (Provisional) Visa, you have the following privileges:
- Reside in Australia temporarily.
- Work in Australia.
- Study in Australia.
- Travel to and from Australia as many times as you wish.
- Attend free English language classes through the Adult Migrant English Program (if eligible).
- Apply for access to Australia’s public health care scheme, Medicare.
The cost for this visa is AUD8,850.00. Additionally, there is a fee for each family member applying with you. It’s crucial to ensure the correct visa application charge is paid. Please note that there may be additional costs for health checks, police certificates, and biometrics.
You must be outside Australia when you apply for this visa.
Your first entry to Australia should occur before the date specified in your grant letter, which is typically set at 12 months from the date of visa grant.
You and your family members must adhere to all visa conditions and obey Australian laws.
